# The Manager at Tic Tots Day Nursery and Creche in Bolton Aims for Outstanding Ofsted Ranking
Key Highlights :
The manager of Tic Tots Day Nursery and Creche in Bolton, Deborah Thompson, has welcomed the recent “good” rating from Ofsted, but is determined to make the nursery “outstanding”. The nursery, which is based at Total Fitness on Waters Meeting Road and caters for children aged three months to preschool age, currently has 56 children enrolled and 12 staff members.
The Ofsted report praised the nursery for its welcoming and safe environment, with children entering with “high energy” and greeting staff with “hugs”. The report also noted that the children were developing independence, helping to tidy toys away, put their coats on and serve food at mealtimes.
Ofsted also commended the nursery’s support for children with special educational needs, stating that “leaders are relentless in their pursuit of removing barriers to learning” and that “children with SEND flourish and make good progress”. The report also highlighted the need for staff to have a better understanding of helping older children to regulate their own feelings and emotions.
In response to the report, Deborah Thompson said: “I am very happy. We have got quite a new team here, it was a team effort, we have come a long way in the last year. It felt good as the goal posts have moved with Ofsted. One of the things the report said was really good was our special educational needs. We are all really friendly and that makes the environment friendly. We have got a really good team, we have had a lot of turnover but we have a really solid team now. Our long term goal is to work towards being outstanding. Ofsted won't be back for six years so we have got time to work towards it. I hope the people who are part of it will stay here and we can get there together.”
The team at Tic Tots Day Nursery and Creche is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for their children, and will be working hard to ensure they achieve an outstanding Ofsted rating in the future. With a strong team in place and a determination to make the nursery the best it can be, the future looks bright for the nursery and its children.
