Grimsby Town Chairman Excited for the Future: 10-Year Plan, No New Stadium, and Wrexham's Hollywood Story
Key Highlights :

Grimsby Town's chairman Jason Stockwood and vice-chairman Andrew Pettit have taken the club from strength to strength since taking over in 2021. After leading the Mariners to a remarkable return to the Football League a year later, Blundell Park was chosen to launch a Government initiative to help bring more regulation to clubs up and down the country. With a positive perspective, Jason is hoping to build on last year's success, finishing 11th in the league.
Speaking ahead of the new season, Jason has bared all, discussing a new stadium, the upcoming season, Wrexham's return and the future of the club. When it comes to the possibility of a new stadium, Jason said: "There are no plans for a new stadium, we have stated that we will never talk about stuff we can't deliver so until we get through other priorities this is not something we're looking at." He added: "Andrew, Debbie and I are looking at a 10 year plan for the club, but at the moment there is no intention for a new stadium."
On the discussion of fan ownership and budgets, Jason spoke about Wrexham and their Hollywood story line with owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mcelhenney. "I love what they're doing. As time has gone on, it's evident that they are committed to their community and towns like Wrexham and ourselves need that different story and they're providing it. They're bringing glamour, which is benefiting them as well as the Football League."
He added: "However, the one thing I do take a bit of offence to is the underdog story. They got out the National League with a League Two budget. Still, that doesn't take away from what they've done and it's brilliant for their town."
With a 10-year plan in place, the future looks bright for Grimsby Town. Jason is determined to keep showing forward momentum and is ambitious to get out of the league. Money alone does not get you there, but with the right commitment to the club and spending the right money, the Mariners can look forward to a successful future.
