How to Make a Simple, Yet Memorable Marriage Proposal
Key Highlights :

When it comes to marriage proposals, there is a lot of pressure to make it special and unique. But, as Erica Murphy recently found out, sometimes the simplest proposals can be the most memorable.
On May 1st, the American journalist was getting ready for work when she stumbled across a handwritten note on a bathroom counter that said “Will you marry me?” Along with the note was a diamond engagement ring in a box and a lit candle. Erica was overjoyed with the simple and creative proposal from her now-fiancé Monta Homes and couldn’t help but share the news with the world.
Many people were quick to congratulate the couple on their engagement and express their admiration for the unique proposal. One woman commented that her proposal didn’t go as she had imagined, but that now it was a funny story and she was glad she said yes. Another suggested that Monta’s proposal was a reminder that it’s not about the theatrics, but about the marriage and the future.
Not everyone agreed, with some suggesting the proposal was “underwhelming”. But Erica was quick to defend her fiancé and explain the thought behind the proposal. Monta had flown more than 1100 km from Detroit to Atlanta to visit her and wanted to surprise her when she least expected it. He had even torn a piece of paper out of a notebook he was using for an exam to write down his question. To Erica, this was very sweet and she was still smiling days later.
Monta’s proposal is a reminder that when it comes to marriage proposals, it’s not always about the grand gestures. Sometimes, the simplest of proposals can be the most memorable. Whether it’s a handwritten note, a candlelit dinner, or a surprise visit, the most important thing is that you both know how much you love each other and that you’re ready to take the next step in your relationship.
So, to all the soon-to-be-engaged couples out there, we hope this proposal was exactly what you’ve dreamt of.
