Copperfish Restaurant to Reopen After Devastating Fire in 2022
Key Highlights :

The devastating fire at Copperfish Restaurant in Mumbles Pier in September 2022 was a tragedy for the popular restaurant and nearby Cinderella's nightclub. But the owners of Mumbles Pier, Fred and Bert Bollom, vowed to rebuild the restaurant and have now officially announced its re-opening. After months of hard work, the owners have announced that the takeaway portion of Copperfish will be ready by July 2023, with the restaurant opening by winter 2023.
The fire completely destroyed the restaurant and nightclub, leaving thick black smoke billowing over the Mumbles skyline and piles of burnt tables and chairs. But the owners were determined to rebuild the restaurant and have now completed the work required to start the project. The new restaurant will be located in the surviving adjacent building, and the owners are also renovating the old rowing club which will include a bar and restaurant with outdoor seating and panoramic sea views.
The Mumbles Pier website also announced that the pier itself remains closed due to the lack of funding after the fire. However, the owners are hopeful that the upcoming projects will attract more investment into the historical landmark. They have expressed their gratitude to the many organisations and suppliers who offered their support throughout the process, including Mumbles Community Council, RNLI, Castell Howell, Snowdons, Axl XL and the community and employees at Mumbles Pier.
The re-opening of Copperfish Restaurant is wonderful news for the Mumbles community, and the owners hope to have the takeaway open by July 2023, ready for the summer season. The restaurant will open by winter 2023, and customers are sure to enjoy the new bar and restaurant with outdoor seating and sea views. The owners have thanked all their loyal patrons for their continued support and are looking forward to the summer season ahead.
