With costumes and sculptures hand-made by youngsters from Brighton and Hove, the parade was a sight to behold. Around 5,000 people, from 5-year-olds to 18-year-olds, marched through the streets of the city, accompanied by samba bands and pop music.

This year's theme was "one world, learning and growing from each other" and designs included environmental statements and also those on current hot topics such as social media and entertainment. The route started in Jubilee Street and finished in Madeira Drive, with an estimated 20,000 people lining the streets to watch the event pass by.

The parade was organised by Same Sky, the charity behind the Burning the Clocks festival, and it works closely with schools and community groups to help design and choreograph aspects of the vibrant parade. The Brighton Festival Parade is said to be the largest of its kind in Europe, and it was certainly a spectacle to behold.
