S.T.A.G is part of a series of projects supported by BePoRa (Bedford Place & Polygon's Residents Association), which formed back in 2021 and is also responsible for the nearby community garden. The gallery's manager and curator, Nicola Anderson, said: "It's one of the initiatives to try to bring life into the community in different and interesting ways. You can do wonderful things in the smallest of spaces! It may be tiny, but it's offering artists and creatives a way of getting their work out there and a really positive thing for the community."

The brightly painted space, which peeps out above the railings of Bedford Place car park, is set to feature a range of artwork, including drawing, painting, collage, graphic design, illustration embroidery, photography, poetry or anything experimental. Twice a year, people from local schools, the care home and community groups will be offered the chance to submit artwork to be exhibited in the gallery, which will be chosen in the same way, by a rotating panel of residents and business owners from the area.

The gallery's launch during the Bedford Place Festival is set to be a lively event, with plenty of opportunities for local residents to get involved and show their support for the creative initiative. It's a great opportunity for artists and creatives to get their work out there, while also helping to bring life into the community in a fun and engaging way.

The deadline for submission from the first open call is June 23, and S.T.A.G is expecting a flurry of applications before then. With the potential to draw people in and create a vibrant atmosphere, it's an exciting prospect for the local area.

So if you're an artist, creative or just a fan of art, be sure to check out S.T.A.G when it officially launches next month. It may be small, but it has plenty of potential to become a great addition to the local community.
