4. Neil Stamp wants to build a nationwide gourmet burger chain.

After living out his former life in the forces and as a professional athlete representing England in Tug of War, Neil Stamp returned to Scunthorpe in 2018, only to find the quality of takeaways in the area had not improved since his last visit. Fed up with the poor quality food, Neil decided to take it upon himself to improve the local takeaway scene and opened Brunch Burger just over a year ago on Frodingham Road.

At Brunch Burger, Neil and the team work with fresh halal meat that is cooked to order, offering customers a range of gourmet burgers, hot dogs, milkshakes and loaded fries. The upmarket nature of the product is what separates Brunch Burger from the rest, with Neil and the team passionate about delivering good food done simply.

Despite the current Cost of Living crisis, Neil is hoping to build on the success of Brunch Burger and expand the business to other parts of the country. His goal is to have a gourmet burger drive through which he believes could go national if done right.

Neil said: “I hate the bog standard takeaways. We are passionate about what we do, it's good food done simple. People appreciate having this choice and some people have even called us up to say how good the food was which shows how great it is. I'm really proud of what we've achieved and it's helped us get to the top 1% in terms of ratings on Just Eat as well as being top in Scunthorpe for takeaways on a number of delivery apps.”

By taking it upon himself to improve the local takeaway scene, Neil Stamp has shown that it is possible to deliver quality food in Scunthorpe. With the launch of the new menu, Brunch Burger is hoping to build their customer base and show people what can be done with quality cooking and ingredients.
