A former office building in Peterborough could soon be converted into a new recreation lounge, thanks to recently submitted plans to Peterborough City Council. Located on 33 to 35 Cowgate, the venue was previously used by PMP Recruitment, which recently closed down. If approved, the lounge would be located next door to the Draper's Arms pub.

The proposal involves transforming the inside of the building into a leisure and games area across the front halves of the ground and first floors. The lounge is expected to create three part-time jobs and two full-time jobs. According to the plans, the lounge will not sell any alcohol or any form of gambling on the premises.

The plans for the change of use have been drawn up by Chiswick Architectural Services and were submitted in May 2023. Among the features at the lounge include sofas, armchairs, sandwich machines, snack dispensing machines, snooker and pool tables and pinball machines. It is described as being a place where people can chill out and have a good time.

The conversion of the former office building into a recreation lounge would be a great addition to the city of Peterborough. Not only would it provide a much-needed leisure space for the local community, but it would also bring in a number of new jobs. This would be a great opportunity for those looking for part-time and full-time work.

The application can be viewed in full, using the reference 23/00764/FUL or clicking here. A decision will now be made by Peterborough City Council. If approved, the new recreation lounge will be a great addition to the city, offering a much-needed leisure space and creating new jobs for local people.
