# Colmore BID Launches Bid for Fourth Term: Hoping to Win the Backing of Tenants
Key Highlights :

Birmingham's Colmore Business District is hoping to secure a fourth term of office with the launch of its official bid. The business improvement district (BID) is asking tenants to back its BID4 Business Plan, which focuses on seven key areas including a new creative and cultural strategy, green initiatives, and support for the leisure and hospitality sectors.
The vote will run from September 28 to October 26 and, if successful, Colmore BID's fourth five-year term will start in April. Investment into the area is expected to be around £7.5 million, with local businesses and tenants involving more than 2,000 people ahead of the preparation of the business plan.
The BID4 Business Plan is focused on seven key areas:
1. Launch a new creative and cultural strategy to support businesses and organisations in the sector
2. Create a new funding round of at least £10 million for green initiatives and public realm
3. Maximise opportunities for the leisure and hospitality sectors
4. Nurture the next generation of business leaders through events, workshops, mentoring and work placements
5. Host its first ever Festival of Business
6. Work with the city council on a long-term strategy for freight and delivery vehicles
7. Continue to deliver the public realm work in Church Street
Colmore BID chairwoman Nicola Fleet-Milne said: "It is our vision as a BID to make the Colmore Business District a desirable place for everyone who works, visits or lives here. We strive for businesses and their employees to have lots of ways to communicate with one another to allow for innovation and communication.
"Following the launch of the business plan, we are now focused on the execution of our BID4 promises and the start of the postal ballot in September. The ballot will determine Colmore BID's future and will hopefully lead to the continued success of the district and the broader city."
The BID has already delivered a range of successful initiatives over the past three terms, including an annual food festival, the employment of a team of security officers to work in the district, and the delivery of the public realm work in Church Street.
The result of the postal ballot will be announced on October 30. If successful, Colmore BID will continue to deliver services and initiatives to the business district for another five years. The BID hopes to win the backing of tenants by demonstrating its commitment to making the Colmore Business District a desirable place for everyone who works, visits or lives there.
