Is Justice Minister Yariv Levin Flirting with Mansour Abbas to Win the United Arab List's Support?
Key Highlights :

The recent reports that Justice Minister Yariv Levin is flirting with Mansour Abbas to win the United Arab List's support for the judicial overhaul have shocked many, especially when considering the hard-right-wing government that is now in power. This situation presents an interesting opportunity for the opposition to seize the moment and craft their positions proudly without peeking to see what the right thinks about it.
The election slogan of the Likud party was that a government with "supporters of terror" won't be able to launch a military operation in Gaza. With the current government relying on Mansour Abbas, many have questioned the security of the nation. Naftali Bennett's government responded firmly to rocket fire from Gaza, whereas the current government has been hit with more rockets in one day than in a whole year under Bennett.
Meirav Cohen of Yesh Atid noted that the error of the opposition was that they weren't proud enough of their cooperation with Abbas. The liberal-democratic parties have failed to explain that it is vital to launch open cooperation with the Arab parties outside the coalition. They have also not explained that the tools at the government's and military's disposal are limited, and that maybe it would be better to strive for diplomatic solutions.
Justice Minister Yariv Levin has been begging Mansour Abbas for help with the reform. Abbas has demanded that Levin say out loud, in public, what sort of help he wants. This presents an opportunity for the opposition to take a leadership role and craft their positions without being influenced by the right. It is time to make the necessary mental switch and stop being afraid of the right-wing propaganda.
