How Sekhukhune United Plan to Stop High Flying Orlando Pirates in Their Next Fixture
Key Highlights :
As the penultimate fixtures for the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season approach, Sekhukhune United have devised a plan to stop high flying Orlando Pirates in their next fixture. The Buccaneers have been on a roll lately, having won six and drawn one in their last seven matches in the league, and are looking to secure a spot in the CAF Champions League.
In light of this, Babina Noko coach Brandon Truter has hinted at the strategy his side aims to use against Bucs on Saturday. “Pirates is a team on form, a team I think now is on seven wins in a row, unbeaten in their last (10) games. So, yeah, it’s a task, it’s a huge team, game, task that we are facing going to Orlando Stadium and wanting the result, a result of course in terms of securing us a spot in the top eight,” said Truter, speaking through the club’s media department.
The coach went on to emphasize the importance of being well-prepared for the match. “I’m not thinking about the final yet, it is a league game and we want to do well bearing in mind also that the first round game we won at home and I’m sure they would want to overturn the result at their home as well. But for us, it’s going to be important to prepare well. Firstly, we have to manage the fatigue, the injuries, and of course the suspensions we have and put the best team on the park,” he said.
To do this, Sekhukhune United will likely focus on their defensive game, looking to shut down the attacking prowess of the Pirates. The team will also need to be disciplined, as they will be up against one of the most experienced teams in the league.
In addition to this, Sekhukhune United will need to be creative when it comes to creating chances of their own. The team will need to be organized in their attack and look to take advantage of any gaps in the Pirates’ defense. This could be done through quick passing, one-two combinations, and taking shots at goal whenever possible.
Overall, Sekhukhune United have a tough task ahead of them when they face the Pirates this Saturday. However, with a well-thought-out plan and a well-organized team, they may be able to pull off the upset and secure a spot in the top eight.
